Dynamo
Reliable · Flexible · Scalable
Dynamo is an enterprise-grade TV automation system, designed for cloud-native, hybrid and on-premise deployments. Whatever broadcast business you are running, it adapts to different system topologies — from IP-based services alongside more traditional delivery methods — and its channel-in-a-box architecture means new channels can be added very quickly, which is where the total cost of ownership actually moves.

Agile provisioning and deployment
The fastest path from planning to a running channel — on a VM in a private or public cloud with IP inputs and outputs, or on an in-house physical server. Same build either way.
A pure software pipeline
A legacy playout chain is a stack of hardware and software devices. Dynamo replaces it with software, and combined with MediaHive, Panorama+ and Shepherd it covers the whole chain from one vendor.
Disaster recovery for legacy automation
Interoperability with heterogeneous automation systems: automatic playlist import, media mover, and the ability to import third-party graphics templates — including Miranda and Grass Valley.
Capabilities
What Dynamo actually does
One system for the whole playout chain
Dynamo includes software tools for file and asset management, web-based schedule management, ingest, manual and automatic QC, metadata and EDL management, sub-clip export and conforming, a graphics template editor and an integrated advanced graphics engine with DVE.
It is built for traditional broadcasters, IPTV, cloud playout and web TV, and it manages anything from a single stand-alone channel to dozens of channels in the same system — unattended, 24/7.

Inputs and outputs that are virtual
Input and output are dynamically virtualised in the system and assigned in real time: SDI (SD / HD / 4K), NDI, IP and streaming over SRT, WebRTC, RTMP and UDP. The signal chain follows the schedule rather than the patch panel.
Simulcast output plays SDI and NDI or IP streaming — DVB TS with H.264 and H.265, over RTMP, SRT, UDP and HLS, plus SMPTE ST 2110, 2022-6 and 2022-7 — all at once, through the embedded Panorama+ engine.
The commercial side, not only the technical one
SCTE-35 signalling and ad insertion as an add-on, alternative playlist management for regional or rights-restricted variants, live event handling, subtitle playback, and loudness measurement with real-time normalisation.
A drag-and-drop scheduling web GUI moves items across different channels, with a bundled CG composer for graphics and DVE and a dedicated view for complex graphics scheduling.

Redundancy that is configured, not improvised
Multi-level redundancy with automatic synchronisation of playlists and media files between main and backup. Integrated with Shepherd, a supervisor gets a real-time graphical overview of the whole system; on fault detection Shepherd raises the alarm in the layout and sends Telegram and SNMP messages.
Monitoring aggregates everything from workflow state to infrastructure usage on one interface, with SNMP support and notification by email, Telegram and other messaging systems.
Storage and ingest, in the same product
Playback and ingest straight over network storage (NAS or SAN), automatic import from cloud storage such as Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive, an automatic media-file mover, and a multiformat real-time ingest tool covering MPEG-2, MXF, MOV, MP4, H.264 and H.265 with scheduled recording built in. Play-while-record is supported on specific formats.
