Solution · InGrid Studio

Live production & multi-platform repurposing

The commercial challenge is no longer just executing a flawless live broadcast. It is instantly capturing, processing and repurposing every camera angle and feed for the secondary windows — delayed broadcast, highlights, OTT and social media.

Modern live broadcast environments, whether operating from a fixed on-premises Production Control Room or an extra-large semi-trailer OB van, demand maximum operational speed and bulletproof infrastructure stability.

InGrid Studio serves as the central, software-defined ingestion, playout and processing engine that bridges high-density, multi-format capture with real-time post-production and asset management. Native hybrid SDI/IP capture, automated scheduling and advanced edit-while-ingest turn a traditionally fragmented recording chain into an optimised, highly scalable workflow.

Deployment

Engineered for deployment flexibility

Adapting to the physical constraints of an OB van, or to the integrated networks of an on-premises broadcast facility.

Outside broadcast & SNG

High-density footprint

Up to 4 Full HD channels or 2 Ultra HD (4K) channels on a single compact, reduced-depth server — because space, power consumption and weight are the critical engineering bottlenecks in a mobile unit.

Hybrid signal bridging

OB vans sit in a transitional phase between baseband and IP. InGrid Studio acts as an internal hardware-software gateway, processing legacy SDI (3G/6G/12G) and modern IP protocols (SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, SRT) simultaneously — without discrete, power-hungry external conversion boxes.

Resilient storage pipelines

Mobile networks are volatile. An asynchronous writing architecture paired with zero-frame-drop technology buffers the incoming cache if local storage fluctuates during a high-bitrate multi-cam capture.

On-premises & studio facility

High-density footprint

Up to 8 Full HD channels or 4 Ultra HD (4K) channels on a single compact server, scaling horizontally across enterprise networks.

PCR integration

Interfaces directly with central routing matrices and Master Control Rooms through standard API hooks.

Virtualisation and cloud-hybrid readiness

Software-defined and running on standard COTS hardware, it fits IT-centric broadcast infrastructures and provides an easy bridge to AWS or Azure for long-term archiving.

Core workflow

Program & feeds recording

During a live production — a top-tier sporting event, a major entertainment show — InGrid Studio simultaneously records the main broadcast output and the individual raw camera feeds for downstream exploitation.

Master air & clean copy ingest

Simultaneously records the “dirty” programme (with graphics, ad triggers and logos) for immediate master archiving and compliance logging, alongside the “clean” programme (without graphics) for international redistribution, localisation and long-term re-use.

Multi-audio recording

Up to 16 discrete channels of audio per video stream, mapping ambient crowd sound, main commentary, secondary languages and inter-crew communications onto separate tracks within the same master file wrapper.

Multi-cam ISO capture

Crucial camera angles are recorded continuously. The centralised InGrid Scheduler lets operators programme synchronised group recordings, so every individual feed shares an identical timecode structure — LTC, VITC or PTP — for perfect multi-camera alignment in post.

Unified metadata ingestion

Feeds are tagged on the fly or pre-configured with operational data — match ID, camera position, operator name — so assets are searchable the moment they hit the storage layer.

Audio routing

Dante audio transport and flexible routing allow audio sources from multiple origins to be assigned and mixed regardless of their physical location on the network, and embedded into the recorded video file.

Repurposing

Real-time repurposing pathways

The commercial value of live content decays rapidly. InGrid Studio splits the pipeline between the live event and the consumer screen into two distinct paths.

Live & linear repurposing — near-instant

Play-while-ingest (chase playback)

An operator can output, review or broadcast a clip while InGrid Studio is actively recording it — eliminating the traditional bottleneck of waiting for a recording to close before it can be used.

Edit-while-ingest (chasing clips)

As a file is written to shared storage it is exposed to the network as a growing file. NLEs such as Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro can open it while the event is still happening.

Avid Interplay / MediaCentral integration

Automated, native check-in of growing clips directly into Avid environments. Replay operators and craft editors begin cutting highlights, half-time summaries or tactical analysis just seconds after the action occurs on the field.

On-the-fly conversion

Real-time up, down and cross-conversion — scaling an incoming 1080i feed to a 1080p edit timeline — and colour space translation including HDR to SDR, removing transcoding steps from high-pressure live scenarios.

Digital, OTT, post and social exploitation

Automated secondary copy generation

Concurrent with the high-bitrate broadcast master (XAVC, DNxHD or ProRes), InGrid Studio generates an additional copy — a lightweight H.264/H.265 proxy, an alternative master, or a mezzanine.

Direct MAM feeding

Proxies and their timecode metadata are pushed straight into the Tecla MAM. Digital editorial teams anywhere in the world browse the growing live feed through the web interface, set in and out markers and export short clips without moving the high-res masters.

Asynchronous media distribution

Optimised network transport streams out over NDI or SRT, or transfers chunks of recorded video directly to cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob) or a central NAS, where digital automation tools can pick them up to feed OTT VOD, social publishing or a post-production factory.

Who buys this

Four markets, four reasons

Tier-1 & tier-2 broadcasters

Who they are

National and international television networks and major network hubs.

Why they implement it

They own both traditional TV channels and proprietary streaming platforms. They need to feed the main live broadcast while their digital newsrooms simultaneously push instant clips to web portals, mobile apps and social channels to drive engagement and ad revenue.

InGrid Studio value

Seamless Avid MediaCentral and Interplay integration, and automated PCR feed scheduling, are mission-critical for massive, fast-paced news and sports operations.

Live broadcast production companies

Who they are

Companies providing turnkey technical facilities and crews for major events — sometimes part of a broadcasting company.

Why they implement it

When they build a major unit they are not just selling camera feeds; they are selling workflow efficiency to the host broadcaster. High-density recording, hybrid SDI/IP bridging and instant edit-while-ingest and play-while-ingest straight from the truck win higher-value contracts.

InGrid Studio value

Space-saving high density — 8 channels per node — and bulletproof reliability through zero-frame-drop protection in mobile, high-pressure environments.

Sports leagues, federations & rights holders

Who they are

Sports organisations that have internalised their media production.

Why they implement it

Rather than handing raw feeds to television networks, modern federations want to control their own content. They record every ISO feed to build a historical archive, create immediate content for their own OTT platforms, and distribute real-time highlight packages to international buyers.

InGrid Studio value

Simultaneous proxy generation pushed directly to a MAM, letting remote digital teams worldwide log and clip the game live.

High-end corporate & event media companies

Who they are

Large corporate entities or specialised agencies producing mega-events, product launches, esports tournaments and music festivals.

Why they implement it

They do not operate on linear TV; they live entirely on digital platforms. They treat live production as a content factory, where a single four-hour stream must be broken into fifty micro-assets by editors working in real time.

InGrid Studio value

Open architecture supporting NDI, SRT and software-defined COTS hardware, which fits their IT-centric, agile production setups.
